Avatar ID returns “Avatar not found” after editing avatar in UI

When I edit an existing avatar in the HeyGen UI (background, visual elements) and then copy the avatar ID, the API (/v2/video/generate) returns “Avatar not found”.
Using the original avatar ID (before editing) works.

Does editing an avatar create a new draft/look that is not API-available yet?
Is there a required publish/finalize step or a different ID I should use for API calls?
